Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh has urged the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment to take swift and effective diplomatic measures to ensure proper legal dues and adequate compensation for the Bangladeshis killed in the brutal attack by Houthi rebels at Riyadh Airport in Saudi Arabia. The organization also demanded that the deceased's bodies be promptly brought back home for a dignified burial if their families desire, or that proper arrangements be made for a respectful burial abroad.

In a joint condolence message sent to the media on Monday (October 12), Hefazat-e-Islam Amir Allama Shah Muhibbullah Babunagari and Secretary General Allama Shaikh Sajidur Rahman expressed deep grief, severe anger, and concern over the tragic incident, in which 12 people, including two Bangladeshis, were killed and more than three hundred citizens were injured in a brutal attack by Yemen's Houthi rebels at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

In the statement, the Hefazat leaders said, "Such a heinous attack on a purely civilian installation like an international airport is completely unacceptable under any circumstances. This is a severe violation of international law, fundamental human rights, and human values. Such terrorist attacks on innocent people have deeply shaken the conscience of the world."

The top two leaders of the organization prayed for the forgiveness of the departed souls of all victims, including the two Bangladeshis, and extended their deepest condolences to the bereaved families. At the same time, they wished a speedy and full recovery for the injured.

Considering the severity of the Houthi attack and the humanitarian impact on the victims, the leaders urged the Saudi government and relevant international organizations to immediately ensure adequate financial compensation for all affected families, including the deceased Bangladeshi citizens. Furthermore, they strongly demanded fully free, state-of-the-art medical treatment for the injured and urgent humanitarian assistance for the affected families.

The statement further added that the United Nations, the OIC, and the international community must take strict and visible action to maintain regional peace and stability and to permanently put an end to such attacks on airports and all other civilian infrastructure. Finally, the leaders prayed to Almighty Allah to grant patience and fortitude to the bereaved family members and offered special prayers for permanent peace, security, and stability in the Middle East and across the world.
